Dev Blog - Imperium: Duel
With our next big update, planned to be released around February 18th, we will be releasing a few requested UI updates to arena, a friendslist with several functionalities, and the ability to duel your friends.
Here are a few glances at these upcoming features.
Arena UI updates
Players will now be able to see who the opponent is they are currently fighting in an arena match and what thier and their opponents current arena rating is.
No more wondering "Who is this?"
During multibattles players will also be able to see a list in the multibattle summary window detailing the results of past fights and who the opponents were.
A version of this is also shown in the multibattles results screen.
But wait there is more:
In the summary screen and accessible from the combat history panel, players will be able to see more details about how these fights played out.
Is that a "Watch Replay" button i spot in the top right corner? Yes it is!
Players will now be able to watch a replay of past fights.
What happened during that painful moment that cost me the fight?
When did that implant trigger along with that lucky crit, that turned the tide and saved the day?
Watch the replay and analyze what went on like a real pro!
The Friends List
With this update players will be able to add players to their brand-new friends list.
In order to do so the players Frontiers ID is needed, which can be found in the players profile, accessible by tapping on their name.
Friends can also be favorited to be at the top of the list for better ordering. Keep your besties at the top!
The new friends list will be located in the social panel along with the alliance and global feeds.
Did you spot the dueling request?
Dueling
Using the friends list, players will be able to send dueling requests to other players.
Winning or losing a duel will not affect your Arena rating and will not award any engineering points or blood tokens.
Dueling will allow players to experiment and learn together without risking anything in Arena, and give opportunity to show off and brag.
Additionally, just like past battles in Arena can now be rewatched, so too can duels, and these replays can also be shared with others.
Your honor is on the line, Commander!
Setting up duels will be very easy.
If a duel request has been sent to you you can check it out and accept it or decline it in the new Duel tab in the Social screen.
Duels are the beginning of a new era in the pvp scene.
Community-organized tournaments, officially supported with prizes will now be possible!
We look forward to seeing how commanders from all around the globe utilize these new improvements.
