Dive into The Abyss today!

It's been some time since our last update on The Abyss, and we're thrilled to bring you some fantastic news. That’s right commanders, The Abyss is now ready for you to sink your teeth into.

So, what's new? We've added a slew of exciting features, chief among them is a brand new system, "Implants".

For the strategists among you who relish in optimizing your commanders, your toolbox just expanded significantly.

The Implant system will allow you to add extra stats and even unique new effects to your units. Implants come in a range of rarities and will allow you to push your units to previously unimagined levels of power.

To get these powerful new boosts, be sure to participate in Abyss combat encounters.

That's not all The Abyss has to offer. Battle foes to obtain pieces of the exclusive Abyssal equipment sets. Boasting new stat combinations, Abyssal gear has the potential to take your ship's stats to the next level.

In the last update, we briefly touched on bosses, let's find out more about them.

On every depth, you will find a Gatekeeper whose only goal is to prevent you from getting to the next depth level. Defeat them and receive a jump key so that you can progress through the wormhole.

Just like The Abyss, the Gatekeepers are a mystery to most, including the Harvesters that rule over them. However, we uncovered some exclusive secrets about their existence.

“The Harvesters are responsible for the abundance of resources scattered across The Abyss.

It was once protected by an impenetrable blockade. During that time the Harvesters created extradimensional harvesting pockets known as Clusters. These Clusters connected the inside of The Abyss to multiple resource-rich locations in the galaxy. To the Harvesters, everything is classed as a resource, even living beings. Commanders, once proud leaders in their own right, were captured by the Harvesters. Stripped of their free will and transformed, they are now but shells of their former selves. As mindless minions serving their Harvester masters, they guard each depth as formidable gatekeepers, akin to zombies.”

Every 5 depths you will encounter a Harvester boss, and each of them will be themed around a specific affinity. Optimize your team to overcome their strengths and take advantage of their weaknesses. But taking down a Harvester is not easy, you will need to deal with their continuously increasing spawns.

But what is a game without a good challenge? For those players who want to kick it up a notch, there will be a hard mode to put your team to the test. We want the hard mode to feel challenging, so be prepared. Complete hard mode and you will be rewarded handsomely. For players who aren’t ready to take on the challenge, fear not. We do not expect players to clear both modes each season.
