Starborne: Frontiers - Patch 3.0
Voidbreach Expansion
Features
Revamped Alliance Vault
The Alliance Raid has been completely overhauled. Instead of 4 fights and difficulties featuring the same encounter with more difficult mechanics and greater rewards in each difficulty, the Vault raid will now be one fight with multiple phases and waves, and great rewards!
Each phase is its own encounter with mechanics that need to be overcome, and phases 1 and 3 of the new Vault Raid feature several waves of these encounters with escalating difficulty.
Everything being a single fight means that the same team with the same placement will be used to make its way through these phases and waves, so placement and tuning will be very important.
Teams and Checkpoints
Once a phase has been defeated and certain requirements met, a checkpoint is unlocked, which will allow Commanders to pick up the fight again form that point, instead of having to go through all of it again, starting from phase 1 wave 1, but team Bravo will be the ones to continue the fight from the Checkpoint.
How do Team Alpha and Team Bravo work?
Team Alpha is the team that you start the Vault Raid with, and when Team Alpha is destroyed, or a checkpoint is being utilized, Team Bravo will take over.
Team Alpha and Bravo must consist of different units.
Improved Rewards
With the 4 old encounters of Normal, Hard, Brutal, and Nightmare difficulty removed, the rewards are now tied to the different phases of the new Vault Raid. For example, any Commander who manages to get to phase 4, will have earned the 3 reward bundles for the previous phases. This means that players can earn up to 4 reward bundles each day.
Phase 4 rewards, higher than the previous nightmare rewards, can now scale even further, with more reward tiers being achievable for Commanders who can push the damage done higher and higher.
Additionally, Commanders can earn a new crafting resource as part of the Vault rewards, starting with phase 3 tier 3 rewards.
What is this crafting resource used for? Voidbreaches!Void breaches
Voidbreaches are short gameplay bursts, with high rewards, and full of difficult choices.
Voidbreaches can be entered by crafting and using Void Catalysts, which are created using the new crafting resource found in the new Vault Raid.
Harvester Dust, Harvester Residue, and Harvester Core Fragments.
These allow for crafting of 4 different tiers of Void Catalysts, each one more difficult and rewarding than the last.
Commanders will not only be able to find great rewards in Void Breaches, but also new challenges, and even Leaderboards!
One of the great rewards is the brand new Calibration Tokens. Learn what they are used for below!Calibration system
Calibration Tokens can be used on level 16 gear of ranks 5 and 6, to improve their main stats even further.
When a piece of gear is calibrated, it will be tied to the unit it was equipped on.
While calibrated gear can still be used on other units, the calibration bonus is only active on that calibrated unit, and any given piece of gear can only be calibrated to a single unit.
These are tough choices, but commanders who choose wisely can unlock a great amount of extra power!- A new Hangar fitting room has been added.
This can be enabled in the settings menu, and allows Commanders to try out new gear on a unit and see the stat changes before committing to those changes. - Improvements have been made to the equipment layout to better utilize the screen space on mobile devices.
- A new Battle Overlay (info panel) has been introduced and its placement has been moved.
Commanders can now find much more valuable information in this panel. - New Tooltips!
